I’ve been concerned about the amount of deodorant I use and the negative effects it could be having on me. Aluminum and other harmful chemicals are being absorbed into our skin and are potential women’s health risks. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month what better time to discuss my search for a natural, without animal product/vegan, aluminum free deodorant that kept me dry and smelling lovely.
I have used T’eo from Lush. It is a solid textured bar that smells of bright lemongrass and tea tree. Then I experimented with Hugo Naturals Mexican Lime & Bergamot scented deodorant stick, the scent was fun as heck. Most recently, I’ve been using Tom’s of Maine brand’s wild lavender deodorant stick. (Ingredients wise, this one still has more chemicals than its competitors.)
If you’re like me and worry that cosmetic deodorant is doing more harm than good let me know what product became your solution! At the end of the day, I didn’t feel as crisp and clean as I was accustomed to with any of the three. For now, the hunt for that natural deodorant that is a women’s “breast friend” continues.
The “what ifs” and “should haves” will eat your brain.
We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.
